Your route to a licence

Four steps,
one route

Step by step, no detours. If needed, theory and your first driving lessons run in parallel, which saves time.

  1. Registration

Online or at our office on Wasenstraße. We look at what you need together, and afterwards you know what lies ahead.

  2. Theory lessons

Fourteen lessons of 90 minutes each. For category B that is twelve basic and two category-specific lessons.

  3. Studying

With our learning app you practise the test questions whenever and wherever you like. You get access when you register.

  4. Driving lessons

First practice lessons until you drive safely, then the twelve special drives. After that you register for the practical test.

Frequently asked

What we are asked most

What does the licence cost with you in total?+

That depends on how many driving lessons you need. What is fixed: the base fee of 399 euros, the twelve mandatory special drives at 78 euros each and the registration fees of 80 euros for the theory test and 195 euros for the practical one. On top of that come your driving lessons at 66 euros each. How many that will be in your case will become clear over the course of your training.

How many driving lessons will I need?+

How many lessons you need cannot be said in general in advance. Every learner learns at a different pace and makes individual progress. That is why the number of practice drives depends on how confident and independent you already are behind the wheel. The twelve special drives required by law are mandatory.

When can I register?+

Any time online via the registration button, or in person at our office during opening hours, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 2:30 to 6:30 pm. Registration is quick, and we take the time for you. If you have questions you can call us any time.

Why does online registration only show class B?+

Our website takes you to our registration manager MAXI. Class B is preselected there. That is correct even if you want to register for B197, accompanied driving from 17 (BF17) or the automatic licence (B78). You choose your training option later in the Fahren Lernen app, which you automatically receive from us.

Do I need an app to study for the theory test?+

With us you get access to the Fahren Lernen app. This comprehensive, multilingual learning app is automatically part of your training, so you do not need to buy another app. You use it to prepare for the theory test and track your progress. The app also works as a calendar, so you can keep track of your driving school appointments.

I hold a foreign licence. Do I have to start from scratch?+

In most cases no. Licences from the EU and EEA remain valid here. For many other countries a conversion is enough, sometimes even without a test. And if both tests are due, you still do not need a prescribed number of lessons. Come by and we will look at your case.

How long may I drive on my foreign licence?+

As a rule six months from the date you register in Germany. After that you need the German licence. Start early, the authority needs processing time.

Can I learn on an automatic without being restricted later?+

Yes, with the B197 entry. You take the test on an automatic and may still drive manual cars. For that you need ten practice lessons in a manual and our certificate.

What do I need to bring to register?+

For registration, your ID card, passport or an equivalent identity document is enough. Everything else can be handed in later.

Do you also train for motorcycles?+

Not at the moment. You can find which licence categories we train for under Categories.

Do you accept students switching from another driving school?+

Yes, we accept students switching driving schools. The registration fee is 250 euros. Bring the documents from your previous driving school, we will sort out the rest here.
